# Can I change my COOL Media username?

## Your COOL Media username is visible to all other users across the COOL Media Commenting platform and can be updated. Read this article to find out how you can change your username in a few simple steps.

Your username is a unique identifier that can be customized within the following guidelines:

- Must be between 2 and 16 characters in length.
- Can include Aa-Zz letters.
- Can include 0-9 numbers.
- Can include underscores (\_).

To update your username, follow these steps:

1. Access your COOL Media Profile by clicking your username in the Commenting Unit, then click "**View My Profile**" in the window that appears.

2. Click on the "**Settings**" button.

3. Locate the "**Username**" field and enter your new desired username, adhering to the guidelines mentioned above.

4. To apply your changes, click the "**Save**" button.

Your username will be immediately updated, reflecting your new choice across the commenting platform.
